1.2. How to Apply for E-Visa

• Access the Portal: Visit the eVisa official website of the Vietnam Immigration Department;
• Upload Documents: Submit a digital passport-sized photo and a scanned copy of your passport;
• Complete the Application: Fill in your personal details, travel itinerary, and other information;
• Pay the Fee: Use a credit or debit card to pay the visa fee;
• Receive Approval: Within 3-5 working days, you’ll receive an email with your approved eVisa. Print this document and carry it with you for entry.

Step 1: Apply for a Pre-Approval Letter

• Contact a licensed travel agency online to request a visa approval letter;
• Provide necessary details such as passport photo, intended travel dates and entry port…;
• Pay the approval letter fee;
• Receive the letter after 5-7 working days (normal process) or as fast as 1-2 hours (urgent process). You can refer to the website Vietnam Online Visa to get an urgent approval letter at the cheapest cost.

Step 2: Collect the Tourist Visa

• Present your approval letter, passport, 2 passport-sized photos, and the completed visa application form at the immigration counter;
• Pay the stamping fee in cash (USD or VND) to receive your sticker visa.

3. Business Visa (DN Visa)

3.1. What is a Business Visa?

• DN1 Visa: Issued to foreigners working with businesses and other organizations with legal status according to the provisions of Vietnamese law.
• DN2 Visa: Issued to foreigners providing services, establishing commercial presence and participating in other activities under international treaties to which Vietnam is a member.

3.2. How to Apply for a Business Visa?

4. Work Visa (LD Visa)

4.1. What is a Work Visa?

• LD1 Visa: Issued to foreign workers who hold certifications for managing or operating high-tech equipment in Vietnam.
• LD2 Visa: Granted to foreign workers employed under contracts with Vietnamese enterprises.

4.2. How to Apply for a Work Visa?

Step 1: Prepare Documents

1. Business or organization operation licenses (e.g., business registration certificate, investment license, operation license, etc.).
2. Certificate of seal registration or notification of seal use by the company.
3. Form NA16 – Letter introducing the seal and signature of the authorized representative.
4. Form NA5 – Visa or temporary residence extension application form for foreign citizens residing in Vietnam.
5. Form NA2 – Entry approval application form.
6. Work permit (for LD2 visa) or work permit exemption certificate (for LD1 visa)

Step 2: Submit the Documents

1. The representative of the sponsored company submits all the documents and pays the fee directly to the Immigration Department. The submission can also be done online via the Immigration Portal under the Department of Public Security.
2. Within 5 working days from the receipt of the visa application letter, the submitter will receive an appointment note which indicates the expected date to get the visa letter.
3. The representative will receive the response from the Immigration Department on the appointed date. After receiving the visa letter, the sponsored company must inform the foreign national so they can proceed with the visa issuance process at the Vietnam entry port

Step 1: Apply for an Entry Letter

• 01 notarized copy of the business license/investment certificate/decision document of the competent authority confirming the establishment and organization of the enterprise.
• Form NA16 – A sample of the seal or signature of the person with high authority in the company or enterprise.
• Passport copy of the foreign investor’s passport.
• Notarized copy of the foreigner’s investment certificate.
• Form NA2 – the guarantee letter has been declared by the enterprise or company.

Step 2: Submit the Documents

• The representative of the company guaranteeing the foreign investor will submit all the documents to the Vietnam Immigration Department.
• After submitting, the representative will receive an appointment letter. The process will take around 5 working days.
• After 5 working days, an Entry Letter to Vietnam will be issued. The sponsoring company will scan the letter and send it to the foreign investor.

Step 3: Collect the Investment Visa

• After receiving the scan provided by the enterprise, foreign investors need to prepare some additional related documents as follows:
  • Original passport;
  • 02 passport-sized photo;
  • Printout of the entry letter;
  • Application for entry and exit to Vietnam.
• Then, depending on the location, the foreigner can collect the investor visa stamped on their passports through the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate where the foreigner is residing or at the registered Vietnam entry gate.

6. Dependent Visa (TT Visa)

6.1. What is a Dependent Visa?

• Parents, spouses or children of Vietnamese citizens;
• Spouses or children under 18 years of age of foreigners issued with LV1, LV2, LS, DT1, DT2, DT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LD1 or LD2 visas

6.2. How to Apply for a Dependent Visa?

Step 1: Prepare Documents for Applying for Vietnam TT Visa Approval Letter

• Form NA2 – request for pre-clearance of foreigners’ entry into Vietnam – certified by the Public Security of the Ward/commune where the sponsor’s permanent address is registered;
• Original passport of the dependent (valid for at least 06 months, having at least 01 blank page and valid Vietnam visa);
• Passport copy of the sponsored person;
• Notarized copies of ID Card, family book of the sponsor;
• Documents proving family relationship, such as marriage certificate, certificate of birth, etc. In case they were issued in foreign countries, they are subject to Vietnam consular legalization and certified translation into Vietnamese.

Step 2: Get the Dependent Visa Stamp

• In this step, the sponsor/sponsor’s representative will submit the required documents to the Vietnam Immigration Department
• The submitter then receives a receipt which indicates the date of receiving the result.
• And then, on the appointed date, the submitter will visit the immigration office to get the result which is a TT visa stamped on passport of the dependent.

Step 3: Get TT visa for Vietnam

• A printout of a scan;
• A Vietnamese visa application form (also known as Vietnam entry and exit form);
• 02 4x6cm portrait photos;
• Original passport (valid for at least 06 months with at least 02 blank pages);
